Data & Account Deletion
Last updated: 23 September 2026
You can delete your CallVault data at any time. Here is how.
Delete a single recording (in the app)
Open the recording → menu (⋮) → Delete, then choose:
- Remove from this device — keeps the cloud backup if you have one, or
- Delete everywhere — removes the local copy and the backed-up copy.
Delete your account and all backed-up data
You can start this yourself. Before you do: deleting your account cannot be undone, and a recording you removed from this phone but kept in backup has no other copy. Export anything you want to keep first. Then open Profile, in the app or the web library, and choose to delete your account. If you would rather we did it, email us instead.
Email aoneahsan@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Delete my CallVault data". We will delete:
- your call details (numbers, names, notes, timestamps) from our database, and
- your backed-up audio files from our storage.
Deletion is finished only when every cloud file that belongs to your account is gone, apart from the copies described under What may remain briefly. If you started it in the app, it shows you progress until then. If you asked us by email, we reply by email once it is done. We aim to finish within 30 days.
If you only used CallVault offline (never signed in / never enabled backup), there is nothing in our cloud to delete — removing recordings in the app or uninstalling the app clears everything.
What gets deleted
- Call details stored for your account: numbers, names, notes and timestamps.
- The audio you backed up, held as private files only you and a CallVault administrator can reach.
- Your household membership. If you own a household, it is closed and every membership in it ends. If you are a member of someone else's household, your seat is freed and that household continues without you. Either way, the recordings that belong to the other members are left alone.
- Invitations you sent that nobody has accepted yet, including the email address each one was sent to.
- Recordings still on your phone are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall CallVault.
What may remain briefly
Copies in routine backups or logs that we must keep for legal reasons may persist for a limited period before automatic deletion.
